BS EN 15038:2006
On 13th April 2006 the European Committee for Standardisation (CEN) approved the European standard EN 15038:2006, known as BS EN 15038:2006 in the UK.
BS EN 15038:2006 is a European standard which sets out the requirements for the provision of quality services by translation service providers (TSPs), or translation companies. It describes the processes involved in providing a translation service through commissioning, translation, review, project management and quality control, to delivery.
Linguaset has always concentrated on providing translations and related services of the highest quality, and already complies with the major aspects of this standard, we have the following procedures in place to ensure the quality and accuracy of the translations that we provide:
- All translations are undertaken by a experienced professional translator that has a good knowledge of the subject matter, working into his or her mother tongue.
- All translations are proofread by a second professional translator that also has a good knowledge of the subject matter, also only working into his or her mother tongue.
- The translator will have at least 5 years of professional translation experience.
- At least one of the two translators working on a project will be a "Linguaset Proven Supplier". This means that the translator will have regularly worked for Linguaset for at least one year and during this time all of their work will have been checked and approved by another of our Proven Suppliers.
- The translation is then checked in house for completeness, formatting and presentation.
