Georgian Typesetting

Georgian typesetting presents more challenges than European languages. Georgian is written using the Georgian script, which is also used as the writing system for the Mingrelian and Svan languages, along with a few others from the Caucasus. Special fonts are required to typeset in Georgian. and Linguaset holds a selection of Georgian fonts which are suitable for typesetting in all of the languages which use this script.

If your project requires translation, Linguaset can translate any text into Georgian, and then, after proofreading, our studio will typeset the new Georgian document. Because of the nature of the Georgian script it is not possible to match fonts used to set European languages, though we will match the style of other documents if required, i.e. formal or informal etc. We would normally deliver high resolution PDF, Illustrator or EPS files, with all of the Georgian text outlined to avoid any problems with fonts. We can also deliver the job as an InDesign or Quark document, again with outlined text in position.

Corrections to the Georgian typesetting

Because we do all of our Georgian typesetting in-house (which is very unusual in the language industry) we are able to respond very quickly to the inevitable authors' amendments which arise with any typesetting work! We nearly always deliver small corrections to typeset jobs within a few hours, or even immediately if asked. We have a very high speed internet connection and our clients can download their Georgian artwork files from a secure ftp server at a speed of 50Mb/sec (if their connection is fast enough).

Reliability and Security

We also have the hardware infrastructure necessary to give a fast and reliable service to our clients. All clients' typesetting work is held on a redundant RAID 5 disc cluster, with continuous on-line multi-variant backup. This means that we can retrieve any file even if it was accidentally deleted from the main server. We also provide white-label hosting of Georgian websites, or indeed websites in any language, which we are localising for our agency clients, so that their clients can view sites which are under development, remaining unaware of our involvement in the Georgian website localisation process.
